Correction Policy
HireLanz publishes tools and guides about salaries, job offers, CVs, visa routes and relocation. The rules and numbers behind them change, and we sometimes get things wrong. This page explains how to tell us, and what we do about it.
How to report an error
Email correction@hirelanz.com, or use the contact form.
For an error in a guide, please include:
- The address of the page
- The sentence or figure you believe is wrong
- What you believe the correct information is
- A source, if you have one (an official government page is ideal)
For a problem in a tool, please include:
- The name of the tool and the page address
- What you entered (round the figures if you like, and leave out anything personal)
- The result you got and the result you expected, with how you worked out the expected one
- Your browser and device, for example “Safari on iPhone”
You do not need a source to report a problem. If something looks wrong to you, tell us and we will check it. Please do not send a CV, passport or any identity document. If we need a sample we will ask, and you can use made-up figures.
How we handle reports
Acknowledgement. We aim to reply within 3 to 5 working days.
Verification. For a guide, we check the disputed claim against the authority that issues the rule, or against the original source of the figure. For a tool, we try to reproduce the result with the inputs you describe, work through the calculation independently, and check any reference data against its source.
Action. If the claim or result is wrong, we correct it. If it was right when written but the rule or data has since changed, we update it and record the change. If we find it is accurate, we reply and explain what we checked.
How corrections are shown
What we do depends on how much the error affected the meaning or the result.
Minor corrections. Typographical errors, broken links, formatting problems and wording that does not change meaning are fixed without a published note.
Substantive corrections in a guide. Where an error affected a fact, figure, rule, eligibility criterion or conclusion, we correct the guide and add a dated note so that readers of the earlier version can see what changed. For example:
Correction, [28 September 2026]: This article previously stated an incorrect minimum salary threshold. The figure has been corrected against the official source and the surrounding explanation updated.
Substantive corrections in a tool. Where a tool produced wrong results, used a wrong assumption or displayed wrong reference data, we fix the tool and add a dated note on its page saying what was wrong, what it affected and what changed. For example:
Correction, [20 September 2026]: The hourly figure previously used the wrong number of weeks. It has been fixed. Results calculated before this date may be slightly off.
We do not quietly delete a guide or reset a tool to make a substantive error disappear.
Updates that are not corrections
When a rule, fee, threshold or exchange-rate source changes after we publish, the guide or tool was not wrong. It was correct when written and is now out of date. In that case we update it, change the Last updated date and note what changed.
Outdated visa, immigration and tax information
This category gets priority. If you tell us that a visa route, permit category, fee, salary threshold or tax rule in a guide or in the Visa Route Explorer, Visa Document Checklist or salary tools no longer matches the official position, we treat it as urgent, because readers may be about to act on it.
Where we cannot verify the current position quickly, we would rather flag the uncertainty on the page, or remove the specific claim or route entry, than leave an unverified rule in place.
Dates on guides and tools
Time-sensitive guides show Published, Last updated and Last reviewed dates. A review date is recorded only on a day when the claims were actually re-checked against their sources. Tool pages show a last-updated date and, for tools that display reference data, the date that data was last checked. We do not refresh dates to make older content look current.
Complaints about something other than accuracy
For copyright concerns, privacy requests, advertising complaints or anything that is not a factual or calculation error, write to contact@hirelanz.com. Privacy requests are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
